Earlier this month (July 12th) the sun ejected a pretty big flare that was directed towards earth. An X 4.1 flame to be exact. Fortunately we survived! ;)

Scientists classify solar flares according to their x-ray brightness. There are 3 categories: X-, M- and C-class with each class ten times more powerful than the one before. X-class flares are the largest of these events
